Halloween at the Vanderpool house

Aaron and I went to an amazing Halloween party put on by a family in our ward. We went as Popeye and Olive Oil. We were supposed to go as a famous couple from TV or movies. We need to thank my mom for helping us finish Popeye in time.

Braden loved trick or treating. His face lit up when he finally realized what people were putting in his pumpkin. Aaron took the kids around and said that Braden was very quiet. When we looked down he had two open suckers in his hands and one in his mouth. He had a death grip on all three. He loved Halloween. This is costume #1 for Braden. We have two cute costumes that I had made the other kids, so he got to wear both of them, one at a trunk or treat and one trick or treating.

Our little busy boy Tigger!

Here is costume #2. He was so cute because his tail would wag back and forth as he walked away.

Here is the rest of the tribe. Janelle is a pirate, Dallen is a Greek god or Odyesus (sp) he kept changing his mind. Ethan is George of the jungle, Lanea is Little Red Riding Hood (She has really cute pigtales under the hood her basket is MIA in this picture), and Braden is our friendly lion.

We Don Gots Ourselves Robed

Just for refrence, my car was parked in the space closest to us where there is no car parked in the picture.

Jonathan ran and errond at night in the mini van and took the truck to work the next morning. I woke up and being Friday didn't have to take Asher to school so it was after Jon got home from work that I went out to get into the mini van. Our Garmin GPS (1.5 months old), my two day old cell phone I had never used and Christmas presents for the Fisher Family had been stolen out of our car. I know right. I don't feel safe in my home. Know why? BECAUSE I WAS HOME THE WHOLE TIME!

I can't believe I didn't hear anything. My dogs are always barking so I probably just ignored it. So I call the police and they came out to take a report. The officer told me because the dollar amount lost was not substantial he would not take any finger prints. In fact, he outright refused and told me I would have to hire a private detective. He gave me the case number and drove away. I was stunned. I called a P.I. as he suggested. It's just that the one I called works for the Provo Police Department and told me protocal. He gave me a number to call for the shift LT. or the supervisor. I called and told him what happened and he was stunned that the officer that responded didn't take prints because, according to the supervisor, he had a fingerprint kit in his car. Let me repeat that.. HE HAD IT IN HIS CAR! The supervisor was further surprised when I told him that the responding officer didn't even look inside my car. He stayed on the sidewalk by his patrol car. Keep reading..it gets better.

In order for the perp to get my Garmin and the suction cup thing off the front windsheild, there had to be contact with the window. To get in the car there had to be contact with the door and handle etc. So when the supervisor sent the officer back out to fingerprint my car he dusted the outside of the front windshield, and both doors on the outside excluding the handle. When I got home from the errond I was running in the truck I got in the mini van to see what I could see, such and fingerprint powder, etc. There was a beautiful full index fingerprint on the inside of the window right next to the circle print left by the sucktion cup. Right where I said it would be.

How bout we make this even better yet. When taking my statement I told him who I thought did this. My neighbor let her older sons move back in the house. Along with them came a not so good friend. I gave his information to the officer who looked it up on his computer. It even pulled up his picture. He jotted something down on his report and that was that. He didn't go ask anybody at the neighbors house to see if they had seen the kid, nothing.

Okay. Lets count our blessing because this is the holidays and all. He didn't come inside. My kids and I were alright. But I'll tell you what, Jonathan doesn't even feel like he can run an errond to the auto parts store leaving tools and parts outside with the garage door open anymore. As a result, I have got to three different auto parts stores tonight four different times.

Grand Canyon

Well...I was thinking that someone with a digital camera would have posted some of these pictures by now but I suppose that me and my disposable camera beat everyone to it! Anywho, these are pictures from the trip to the Grand Canyon over Labor Day. Keep in mind they're not very good but hey, if no one else is gonna post some then be happy with what you've got!

This was on the walk that we took along the rim. It was beautiful that day!

Ally making faces at me. I just thought it was cute.
This was our camp site the morning after the shades almost blew away.

I can't remember if this was breakfast or lunch. By the end of the trip the kids were all eating smores for pretty much every meal so it's hard to say!

My child is smarter than your.....ah nevermind

So Asher has this thing that he has got to be on a chair at the bar in my kitchen whenever I am in there. It is like he is begging for food like we never feed him. He started showing off by paying peek-a-boo to me and Alex. He got in but couldn't get out. Then he started to panic. I called my neighbor for help to watch him while I went to the garage for tool. At first he didn't know what to say or think....
Then, after considerable thought....
It was funny and yet another way to get my attention.

James R Vanderpool and Anna L Henderson

I thought people might want to see a picture of their Great Great Grand dad the civil war hero and his wife Anna L Henderson.

Happy Halloween

Halloween Supermen

Our boys were supermen. Taiki loved his costume this year and kept going around and posed himself as Superman to everyone.
Kenta was a wonderer. Once he figured out that people were giving away candies, which was way too good to be true for him, he decided to skip dinner and go on a candy hunt on his own. He actually got some good candy, too.

A walk around the Alison place

Mom and Tabi are making their way up the fence line from the Alison place.

The Columbines were every where this year. They are such a beautiful, delicate flower. I am glad we saw so many.

Better late than never

Now that we have had two snows up here I guess I should post some of our summer pictures. This one is on the extreme S/W corner of the Alison place. We had quite a hike and were about to head up to the road. Mom and Tabi were enjoying some shade. This was so much fun.
Mom's kids all enjoyed the cabin. It was work keeping track of everyone but we all made it home alive.

This is the best picture for the sheer terror on Tabitha's face. She felt like she was not secure and would bounce out. We had so much fun in California.

Our super heroes!

Here are Manny and Angel in their Halloween costumes. They had so much fun and didn't want to stop trick or treating. Manny kept telling me he wanted to go to alot alot alot alot of houses!

Pumpkin Patch Festival

Karla invited me and my boys to the Pumpkin Patch Festival at the Desert Botanical Garden this morning, so we all went. We had mom's 5 kids and my boys and Mindy's boys. We are completely outnumbered by kids, but we had so much fun. well you can tell in their faces.

The best part was that
everyone got to choose a pumpkin and decorate. Mathew got the biggest one and loved decorating it. Taiki loved drawing on his pumpkin with shapie, which is not allowed in my house ever, and using scissors. It was little hectic for mom and me to haul all those children plus pumpkins, but
it was totally worth a trip.
Thanks mom for inviting us all!!
